About: Rachael

I began baking in elementary school (my specialty was chocolate chip cookies) and have never managed to put down the spatula since. As I got older, I developed a passion for cake decorating and taught myself how to work with fondant, ganache, and other mediums. I developed an incurable Food Network obsession somewhere around this time as well, which lead me to discover that, despite a disastrous incident involving some pan sauteed chicken breasts a few years back, that I could actually cook too. From that point on, my obsession with cooking, food, and baking was set. However, it's a positive obsession, really, because it has helped transform me from an extremely picky eater to a normal/mildly adventurous eater, something that's undoubtedly changed my life for the better. I hope to make a career in some aspect of the culinary arts, whether it be in food television, food writing, opening my own cake bakery, or whatever next week's whim may bring. For now, I'm just learning a lot, enjoying it all, and sharing it with you. I hope you will enjoy the journey as much as I know I will.
